On May 9, various papers and pieces of garbage were scattered all over the parking lot by Atlantic Avenue Beach and several bags of garbage were left in the lot, according to John C. Rooney of the East Hampton Town Recreation Department. Upon inspection, it appeared several documents belonged to a film shoot that had been taking place there the day before. Police took photographs and wrote tickets that were to be issued to the assistant production manager.

Business cards, shotgun shells, and vehicle debris were found in a pile of trash left in front of Cynthia Diacre’s Middle Highway house on May 7. Police said a car accident had occurred there.

A worker struck a gas line while digging on Conklin Terrace off Newtown Lane at about 9:45 a.m. on May 15. The East Hampton Fire Department responded and called National Grid, which turned off the feed so workers could repair the gas line.

An argument between two men at a Further Lane construction site last Thursday escalated and police were called around 9:15 a.m. Neither party pressed charges.

Police responded to the railroad station last Thursday shortly before midnight, where a 65-year-old woman was “highly intoxicated and agitated.” She told police she wanted to get into the station, but the doors were locked. The doors lock automatically at a certain hour and they were not able to help her.

Officers were back at the train station for a possible disturbance on Friday at around 1:25 a.m. A caller had reported that a man was inside throwing things at the windows and the alarm was sounding, but when officers arrived all appeared normal.

Police issued a warning to a garbage-truck driver who was picking up from a Darby Lane construction site at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday. The driver said he did not know he could not pick up before 7 a.m. as it was his first time on the job in East Hampton Village.

Montauk

Police were called at about 4:40 a.m. on May 12 about a man smashing windows at the train station. When officers arrived, they found a man picking trash out of the bins on the station platform. He was mumbling to himself and “acting in agitated manner,” the report said. He was taken into custody and turned over to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority police.

Three air-conditioning compressors, worth $12,000, have been stolen from a West Lake Drive property that is under construction. Brian Mannix of Amagansett told police on May 4 that the compressors were disconnected in October and placed next to the garage until the renovation was complete.

A Brooklyn woman went to police on May 14, concerned she was the victim of fraud. She said she was contacted by a man claiming to be with the Social Security Administration, who told her someone had been arrested on charges involving an abandoned vehicle and that the car had been rented with her Social Security number. She was asked to provide the number to clear the pending charges, and she did. When she was next told to go to 7-Eleven, purchase a Google Play gift card, and put $500 on it to resolve the matter, she grew suspicious.
