An East Hampton man bent an iPhone 6S in half during a domestic incident in which he struck a woman, according to East Hampton Town police. On May 15 at about 9:20 p.m., police said, at his house on Abraham’s Path, Adrian L. Rodriguez, 41, damaged the cellphone.

Police said he grabbed the woman by the neck, placed his knee on her back, and punched her four or five times on the side of her head. Police withheld the victim’s name.

The phone, which belonged to the woman, was worth $300. Mr. Rodriguez was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony, at about 10 p.m. He was additionally charged with second-degree harassment, a violation, and was held overnight for a morning arraignment. East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky released him on his own recognizance.
