Online donations for Yuris Murillo Cruz's funeral expenses and family surpass $200,000

Services have been planned to remember Yuris Murillo Cruz, the mother of two who died in the hit-and-run car accident in Amagansett last week. Over the weekend, her children, Josue Gael, 1, and Michelle, 4, were discharged from Stony Brook University Hospital.

Public visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home, 94 Pantigo Road in East Hampton. A funeral Mass will be said at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 79 Buell Lane, on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

According to a relative, Angelica Marta, the children and their father are currently staying with his sister because two members of their household recently tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, community efforts to support the Murillo Cruz family are ongoing. A GoFundMe fund-raiser surpassed $100,000 over the weekend. A second GoFundMe campaign, set up by Ms. Murillo's friend Angelica Marta of Hampton Bays, had reached $82,000 as of Monday.
