Pauline Nathlie Mohan, an East Hampton native and a homemaker, died of cancer on Friday at home in Torrington, Conn. She was 72 and had been ill for eight months.

In 1973, she married Erwin Mohan, and the couple settled in Torrington. Mr. Mohan survives. She worked at the Torrington Company, a producer of parts for automobile steering wheels, and as a custodian at the Howmet manufacturing company before becoming a full-time homemaker.

Ms. Mohan enjoyed shopping, traveling, and doing yard work, and she loved animals.

Born on Dec. 28, 1948, in Southampton to Preston King and the former Antoinette Pelis, she grew up in East Hampton and graduated from East Hampton High School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Robin Mohan, and a son, Patrick Mohan, both of Torrington, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Another son, Kevin Mohan, died before her. Two brothers, Paul King of East Hampton and Edward King of Flanders, a sister, Sharon Peters of Churhville, Va., and a niece, Brenda MacPherson of East Hampton, also survive.

The family will receive visitors tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thurston Rowe Funeral Home in Litchfield, Conn. A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Robert Tucker of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Litchfield will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington.
