Thu, 09/03/2020 - 08:27

Gail Sheehy, a New York journalist and writer of renown who also lived for a time in East Hampton, died on Aug. 24 at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital of complications of pneumonia, her daughter Maura Sheehy told The Times. She was 83 and had been visiting Robert Emmett Ginna Jr., her longtime companion, in Sag Harbor.

The family will hold a funeral tomorrow at noon at Sag Harbor's Oakland Cemetery, with lunch to follow at the American Hotel in that village. An obituary will appear in a future issue.
