Amagansett Superintendent Resigns Wednesday

The East Hampton Town Police Department has given the all-clear signal at the Amagansett School after a bomb threat was received by email just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The school — where the day's classes were just beginning — was immediately evacuated, police said in a release.
Ahead of the Nov. 7 general election, key deadlines for voter registration and absentee balloting are coming up in the next two weeks.
Visiting hours for Frederick William Yardley, a retired Springs School history teacher and administrator, will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 11 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton. A full obituary will appear in Thursday's paper.
