The next installment of the LTV series “East End Underground,” filmed in front of a live audience at the public access studio in Wainscott, will feature blues and gospel music in celebration of Black History Month.

A presentation and panel discussion on how the history of the enslaved is being revealed through archaeology, anthropology, and other methods that fill in the gaps left by official records will be held on Sunday.

On Saturday at noon and Sunday at 1 p.m., a Montauk Point State Park naturalist will lead a three-mile hike from the state park office in the lower parking lot to see shore birds and seals.

Tap dancing has made a big comeback in recent years, and two upcoming events will incorporate the dance form to illustrate important events in American history.

The Heart of Springs will hold a Valentine’s Day sing-along Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Fellowship Hall.

New York State's presidential primary election is scheduled for April 28, and Friday is the deadline to register with a party or change one's party affiliation to be able to vote in that primary.

Looking ahead a few weeks, a mobile mammography van will be on hand at the Bridgehampton Firehouse on Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering breast cancer screenings by appointment.

The newest book club in town is at the East Hampton Starbucks, and its first book selection honors Black History Month with a special emphasis on Jamaican culture. The book is "The Sun Is Also a Star" by Nicola Yoon.

Samantha Prince has been named the East Hampton High School class of 2020 valedictorian, and Wells Woolcott has been named the class salutatorian.

The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center in East Hampton is about to celebrate a milestone, and to help tell its story the center is searching for people who were involved in its very early days.
