For prospective business owners and workers in the building trades, Organizacion Latino Americana of Eastern Long Island will host a professional-licensing workshop on Thursday in conjunction with the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing, and Consumer Affairs and the Riverhead School District.

In an announcement, OLA said the workshop is a response to many requests for such information from the community. "Whether you're thinking about starting your own business or need guidance on navigating the licensing process, this workshop is for you," OLA said.

The workshop is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but advance sign-up is required at 631-899-3441. The location is Riverhead High School (rear entrance). Complimentary empanadas and beverages will be served.
