A Survey for Wainscott

Mon, 01/08/2024 - 13:42

"When you walk out your front door, what do you see? Buildings? Landscapes? Trees?"

"What does your street look like? Has it changed over time?"

"Which important places or buildings have been lost or demolished?"

These are just a few of the questions being asked of residents of this hamlet by the Wainscott Heritage Project, which is conducting a reconnaissance survey to guide its mission of historical documentation and preservation. The survey can be found at the top of the group's website.

The nonprofit, which was formed in 2021, has asked people to fill out the survey by Jan. 31 and send it back via email to [email protected] or by post to P.O. Box 242 in Wainscott 11975. All responses are kept confidential.
