The East Hampton Village Department of Public Works began its leaf pickup program on Oct. 9 and will continue to pick up leaves through Dec. 8. Piles should be placed near road shoulders, but not on the pavement, and should not contain sticks, grass, plastic, or any household garbage.

Branches and trimmings from trees or shrubs are not part of the program and will not be picked up. The village also advises residents that piles of leaves should not be left around trees, sign posts, or fire hydrants.
