A fire in Springs on Tuesday morning left a family with neither a home nor belongings, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help them get back on their feet.

Ana Barros "and her children were lucky to make it out safely," wrote Jessica Tovar of Organizacion Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island, who is organizing the fund-raising effort "in hopes of alleviating some of the financial needs that they are now facing."

The fire, at a house on Springs-Fireplace Road, did significant damage. Initial speculation from fire department was that it was electrical in nature, but the East Hampton Town fire marshal's office is investigating the cause.

The family lost everything, according to Ms. Tovar.

As of Friday afternoon, just over $6,300 was raised toward a goal of $50,000. Those wishing to help can search "Springs house fire" at gofundme.com to find the donation page for the Barros family.
