Russell Bennett, the front office manager at The East Hampton Star next door, lucked into a large cup of coffee when he happened to get the 10,000th cup from the East Hampton Library's Starbucks machine in January of 2020.

A relatively quiet weekend is ahead for the East Hampton Library, which has returned its self-service Starbucks coffee and tea machine to the main lobby. It had been removed when the Covid-19 pandemic first spread across the nation. The cost is $1 for those who supply their own mugs; $2 for those who don't.

J.D. Salinger's "Nine Stories" is the selection for July for the Short Story Series Discussion, held Mondays on Zoom at 5:30 p.m. This coming Monday's stories are "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" and "Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut." Registration is with the reference desk staff or via the library website.

A fitness program for older adults is online at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. It is followed at 1 p.m. by a new-moon circle.

Library patrons have been invited to a coloring and coffee session in the courtyard at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m., a ranger at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming will give an illustrated online talk about the park's geologic features and wildlife.

Kate Alesio teaches gentle "chair yoga" next Thursday at 11 a.m. in an online program. At 6 p.m. next Thursday, Esther Amini will be the library's Zoom guest to speak about her new memoir, "Concealed." She is known for her short stories, which have appeared in Elle, Lilith, Tablet, The Jewish Week, Barnard magazine, Proximity, Paper Brigade, and Zibby Owens's anthology "Moms Don't Have Time To."

Looking ahead to July 10 at 6 p.m., Camille Aubray will talk about her new suspense novel, "The Godmothers."
