At the Lighthouse
The team behind the Crow’s Nest Cafe, way out east on the corner of Montauk Highway and Old West Lake Drive, has opened another eatery even farther east -- in fact as far east as you can go. The Lighthouse Cafe at the Montauk Lighthouse concession opened last Thursday and advertises a “full bar, meaningful coffee program, and light bites.” For June, it will be open all day Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. The spot had live reggae this past Saturday; check its Instagram account, @thelighthousemtk, for news about future music.
The Crow’s Nest reopened just before Memorial Day and is open daily at 4:30 all summer.
Happy Birthday, Almond
Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a Channing Daughters wine dinner next Thursday at 7 p.m. The meal will feature five courses of seasonal dishes paired with five rosés, all served family style.
An amuse-bouche will be accompanied by the winery’s 2025 rosato cabernet franc. A “crunchy springy” salad with ranch or blue cheese dressing will be served with a 2025 rosato franconia. Lamb meatball with “maybe some kinda pasta” will be paired with 2025 rosato di refosco. A “striped bass/pork belly/kimchi thing” will follow with a 2025 rosato lagrein, and the meal will conclude with a rhubarb/ginger dessert and a 2024 rosato merlot/lagrein pétillant natural.
The cost is $125 plus tax and gratuity.
Speaking of Rosé
