Not only is February Chocolate Lovers Month, it also has a National Strawberry Day. Hampton Eats is celebrating both with deals on chocolate desserts and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Food Court February
Hampton Eats, East Hampton's food-court style emporium, has a number of promotions to celebrate the month of February, including a Chocolate Lovers Month discount of 10 percent on all chocolate desserts, all month long. Some daily specials coming up are a National Clam Chowder Day buy-one-get-one cup of clam chowder offer on Feb. 25, National Strawberry Day's free chocolate-covered strawberries with a purchase of more than $20 on Feb. 27, and a Feb. 29 Leap Day discount of up to 20 percent off.

The market has counters from Villa Italian Specialties, Stuart's Seafood Market, the Montauk Bake Shoppe, Hamptons Coffee, and others. It also has juices, smoothies, frozen yogurt, salads, and baked goods.

Wine Smackdown
Park Place Wines and Liquors will have a tasting showdown between American wines and their French counterparts next Thursday in its East Hampton store. The wine class, part of a winter series, will match up cabernets, pinot noirs, and chardonnays from different regions to distinguish the styles of winemaking and help determine which ones taste the best to those participating.

The wines will be paired with treats prepared by the Cookery food store and caterers in East Hampton.

The class starts at 6 and lasts for about an hour. Tickets are $45 and must be reserved on the store's website

Comings and Goings
Some signs of spring are dotting the landscape, including the reopening of two Montauk eateries. Inlet seafood opens today and will serve lunch and dinner Thursdays through Sundays. The restaurant, owned by six fishermen, specializes in fresh seafood, sushi, and traditional raw bar selections. It also has meat and pasta dishes, a variety of appetizers, salads, and sides.

Street Food on the Green will start its second season tomorrow and will be open seven days. It serves lunch and dinner as well as a happy hour menu of drinks and bites at the bar every day. The restaurant is from the same owners as Montauk Street Food and Seaside House Bar, also in Montauk. It specializes in seafood and sushi, plus dumplings and other Asian standards such as boneless spareribs, duck, and tempura.

Meanwhile, Carissa's Bakery will be on break until Feb. 29. This applies to both East Hampton locations and its store in Sag Harbor.

I Scream, You Scream
Loaves and Fishes, which recently reopened for the season, has declared its February ice cream flavor to be milk chocolate sea salt caramel. According to the Sagaponack store, where it is made and can be purchased, it is "one of our most sought-after flavors of the month." Even with a leap day this year, February is already half over. Present and aspiring fans should get to the store soon before time runs out on this "crowd favorite."

Hampton Kitchen
Water Mill's Hampton Kitchen has some daily specials on its menu. The deli serves breakfast, sandwiches, salads, tacos, soup, and some hot plates Mondays through Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The specials, which are $15, include a choice of three sides. Monday is roast chicken, Tuesday is meatloaf, Wednesday is pork chops, Thursday is barbecue ribs, and Friday is baked salmon.

Fun at Birdies
Birdies Ale House in Southampton is spicing up winter post-football with Sunday beer pong from noon to 9 p.m. Pitchers of Miller Lite will be $15 and beer pong tables will be set up weekly.

The pub has an all-day happy hour on Monday with $6 drafts, $7 pints of Guinness, well drinks, and wine, $8 for guacamole, chips, and salsa, and $10 for cheese or chicken quesadillas. It also has music and regular trivia nights it announces on social media and music. Coming up is Matt Taylor on Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.

Sipping and Shopping
Le Closet in Southampton has a gal-entine's day sip and shop event from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to shopping the store's usual wares, there will be a friendship bracelet station, discounts on sneakers, and wine and desserts served.
