In the Springs, Amagansett, and Montauk School Districts incumbents are running unopposed to keep their seats on the school boards.

In Amagansett, there is an uncontested election for the seat vacated by Wayne Gauger when he resigned last year. Joseph Lupo, who was appointed to fill the vacancy in January, is seeking election for the first time for a term ending in 2028.

Mr. Lupo, a 16th-generation Amagansett local, attended Amagansett School. He and his wife, Annalee, and their 2-year-old son, Rocco, live in the hamlet. His family owned and
operated Astro’s Pizza on Main Street for decades.

Mr. Lupo works in the cafeteria at the John M. Marshall Elementary School. He says the last five months and his upcoming term are his way to “give back to a community that has given me so much.”

Addie Slater-Davison, the board’s former vice president who took over as board president after the departure of Mr. Gauger, and Dawn Rana-Brophy, who is also a current member, are both running uncontested for their seats. Their terms end in 2029.

In Springs, Kate Sarris and Patrick Brabant are running unopposed to remain on the school board in Springs.

Ms. Sarris was elected in 2023. Mr. Brabant, who is the board’s current vice president, has been on the board since 2017.

In Montauk, Nick Finazzo, the board’s current vice president, is running to keep his seat. Mr. Finazzo was first appointed to the board in 2018 and won a full five-year term in 2021.
