Meet a Celebrated Author

Carl Hiaasen, an award-winning young-adult author, will virtually visit the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor on Sunday as part of the library’s social justice book club for youth. From 2 to 3 p.m., Mr. Hiaasen will talk about his book “Squirm” with children in grades five to eight, including a question-and-answer session. Snacks will be served. The library describes the book as “an adventurous tale that explores complicated family relationships as well as important environmental issues.”

Also at the John Jermain, story time for National Smile Day is tomorrow and Sunday, from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Young children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. The Minecraft Club for kids ages 8 to 11 will take place in-person on Saturday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for a drop-off program.

Advance registration is required and can be made online via the event calendar at johnjermain.org.
