Teen Open Mic Night

The Guild Hall Teen Arts Council will host a virtual open mic night on Friday at 8 p.m. for kids 13 and up to perform music, poetry, comedy, dance, monologues, and other art forms. Eventually, the council says, the monthly Burn the Stage open mics will be held outdoors in the Guild Hall garden. A different guest artist will lead each session, starting this week with FlyKai, a filmmaker, photographer, and musician. Sign-up details are at guildhall.org.

In-Person With Project Most

Project Most has several upcoming Saturday events for kids. For ages 3 and 4, there will be a sugar-cube building activity on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and rainbow-themed science experiments March 27 at the same time. For kids in kindergarten through the third grade, clay sculpting is Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and a marble maze activity is March 27 at the same time. STEM activities exploring weight, buoyancy, and magnets are planned at 1 p.m. for kids in fourth through sixth grades. There are also conversational Spanish classes and fitness activities on Saturdays. Details are online at projectmost.org.

Making Art at the Parrish

A Parrish Art Museum open studio for families on Sunday at 1 p.m. will explore mixed-media art. Social distancing and mask-wearing will be observed at the in-person workshop. Materials including clay, wood, and paint will be provided. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children and museum members. Advance registration is required at bit.ly/38G9ZVx.

Also at the Parrish, four weeks of after-school art workshops begin in-person next week for kids in kindergarten through the fifth grade. The in-person sessions are either Mondays and Thursdays, 3:45 to 4:45 p.m., and there is no cost. Sign-up in advance is at bit.ly/3qOJof5.

Looking ahead, there will be a four-week pottery class for children in the first through sixth grades starting on Saturday, April 17, at a cost of $120 or $90 for members. Advance sign-up is required for both.

Celebrating Spring

On Wednesday, the East Hampton Library will help kids ages 9 to 11 welcome spring by getting creative with all sorts of art materials. The fun takes place via Zoom at 4 p.m. Supply kits are available for pickup in the children's room ahead of time. Advance registration is required through the events calendar at easthamptonlibrary.org.

That same day, there is an online college planning workshop at 6 p.m. Julie Raynor Gross will help teens figure out how to evaluate colleges to find which ones suit them the most. The Eventbrite registration link is bit.ly/3lgFk6d.

Tales and Tails
