Pet Photo Contest

Teens can enter up to three original photos of their pets in the East Hampton Library’s pet photo competition. The winner will receive a surprise gift for his or her four-legged, winged, scaled, or finned friend! Entries are due by Aug. 31 and all high school students who live in the East Hampton Library District (Wainscott, East Hampton, and Springs) are eligible to enter. A link to the contest is on Instagram via @ya_easthamptonlibrary, and more information can be had by emailing [email protected] or calling 631-324-0002, extension 5.

Outdoor Music for Kids

Also at the East Hampton Library, Katherine C.H.E. will perform an interactive concert of children’s music under the tent next Thursday at 10 a.m. Appropriate for children ages 2 and up, seating is limited and advance sign-up is a must. Masks, social distancing, and bringing blankets to sit on are also required. Sign-up is on eventbrite.com by searching “outdoor concert with Katherine C.H.E.”

Starring. . . Worm and Sprout?

Liz Joyce, founder of the award-winning Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre, will perform “The Doubtful Sprout” on Wednesday at Guild Hall in an outdoor show at 4:30 p.m. The show, appropriate for ages 3 to 7, promises to “tunnel down with Worm and Sprout as they discover the mysterious life found inside soil.” Tickets are $30 or $26 for members and are available for purchase at guildhall.org.

Online History and Music

Lovers of Sag Harbor history, young and old, can log on to the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum website for online exhibits and music. There’s a 1950 video about the village and traditional maritime songs. They can be found under the “history, music, movies, and more” link on the website, sagharborwhalingmuseum.org.

Calling Young Sports Fans

The John Jermain Memorial Library is hosting an online Bingo game for children ages 7 to 11, this time with a sports theme. The fun happens next Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and sign-up is at johnjermain.org.

At the Amagansett Library

Kids’ fitness workouts are Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., story time is Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., and circle time for little ones is Friday morning at 10 a.m. They are all live virtual events on Zoom or Instagram and more information is online at amagansettlibrary.org.
