Fairy Tales with a Twist

Liz Joyce of Goat on a Boat Puppet Theater returns to Guild Hall on Wednesday for a performance of the Princess and the Pea fairy tale — with a froggy twist. Appropriate for kids ages 3 to 7, the outdoor show starts at 4:30 p.m. and costs $30, or $26 for Guild Hall members. Registration is online at guildhall.org.

Ms. Joyce will also host an online puppet and variety camp at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor from Aug. 24 to Aug. 28 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. each day. For children ages 4 to 7, the cost is $350. More details are at baystreet.org.

Outdoors at the Library

The East Hampton Library is hosting an outdoor, socially distanced trivia game for teens tomorrow from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Marks are required, and beach chairs or towels to sit on have been suggested.

Teens can also sign up for a make-and-take arts-and-crafts session at the library on Monday at 4 p.m. There will be an art cart with lots of fun stuff to create with. On Tuesday, the young-adult librarian will have an outdoor coffee hour for teens from 4 to 5 p.m., and on Wednesday there will be a young-adult "hangout" on the lawn "to talk about books, life, or whatever is on your mind."

Next Thursday, for young children, the library will hold a meet-and-greet at 2 p.m. — with animals! Educators from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge will have turtles, snakes, and other creatures for up-close encounters. Sign-up for these programs is online at easthamptonlibrary.org.

Bicycle Safety

The John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor is offering online instruction on bicycle safety on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Meant for families, the engaging presentation will teach the rules of the road and safety measures for all ages. Johnjermain.org is the place to sign up.

Also through John Jermain, next Thursday at 5 p.m., Megan Schmidt, manager of Shelter Island's Camp Quinipet, will show kids ages 9 to 11 how to make friendship bracelets. Kits with materials will be available for pickup in the outdoor plaza in the days leading up to the online session. Advance registration is required.
