Block Party!

The Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton will celebrate Memorial Day weekend on Saturday with a block party of a different sort, this one involving block building.

In addition to those activities, kids 3 to 8 can make stomp rockets and enjoy crafts, games, and chalk street art. The party happens from 10 a.m. to noon and is free for museum members, $14 for everyone else.

At the Library

Cupcake decorating, art, and movies are on the agenda for the younger set this week at the East Hampton Library.

The library will screen “The Little Mermaid” tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. and “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” on Saturday at 1 p.m. On Wednesday at 4 p.m., children 3 to 5 can learn about the art of Mary Cassatt. Then, taking inspiration from the hat-wearing women in her paintings, they’ll make and decorate their own paper hats.

Next Thursday, in a program at 4 p.m., children 4 and older can decorate cupcakes with a bug theme and then take them home.
