LTV’s Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea will conclude its third season in Wainscott on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when Donna McKechnie performs “A Musical Memoir.”
Widely recognized for her Tony Award-winning performance as the original Cassie in “A Chorus Line,” McKechnie will invite the audience to an evening as personal as it is theatrical, through stories, songs, and reflections.
During “A Musical Memoir,” she recalls collaborations with Bob Fosse, Gwen Verdon, Michael Bennett, Marvin Hamlisch, and Stephen Sondheim while performing songs from “A Chorus Line,” “Company,” “A Little Night Music,” “On the Town,” “Sweet Charity,” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
McKechnie most recently starred in a run as Madame Morrible in the Broadway production of “Wicked.” Other Broadway credits include “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “The Education of Hyman Kaplan,” “Sondheim: A Musical Tribute,” which she choreographed, and “Promises, Promises.” She has starred in and choreographed productions on London’s West End, as well as theatrical performances in Tokyo and Paris, and has appeared in TV specials and such series as “Fame,” “Cheers,” and “Dark Shadows.” Her memoir, “Time Steps: My Musical Comedy Life,” was published by Simon & Schuster in 2006.
General admission is $80, reserved cocktail table seats are $120 with a drink ticket, and front row cafe table seats with bottle service are $240.
