A Folk-Rock Double Bill With Doctorow and the Kennedys

Mon, 10/16/2023 - 15:43

Caroline Doctorow and her band, with the singer-songwriter duo the Kennedys, will perform a concert of folk-rock at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the South Fork in Bridgehampton on Friday at 7 p.m.

Ms. Doctorow has released 11 solo albums, the most recent of which, "Dreaming in Vinyl," reached #2 on national folk radio airplay charts. She has received the Alexander Award from the Long Island Arts Council and an official New York State Proclamation honoring her work as a folk singer.

Pete and Maura Kennedy began their touring career in the early '90s with Nanci Griffith, performing with her at Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Austin City Limits, and on "The Tonight Show." Their songwriting engages with social and environmental concerns in a sonic context of classic roots music.

Tickets are $25 at the door.

Self Provisions, a storefront attached to Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese in Sag Harbor, is “always open,” as is proclaimed by an illuminated sign on the wall at the entrance. Two large, brightly lit vending machines dominate the space, with offerings ranging from sea salt crackers and slabs of French butter to jars of caviar and curated gift boxes — and, of course, cheese.
