Bourbon and BBQ

Texas bourbon from the Garrison Brothers Distillery will be paired with barbecue fare during a dinner at Townline BBQ in Sagaponack on Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m. Along with tastes of whiskey and cocktails made with the spirit, there will be guests who will discuss bourbon making and lead a tasting of two bourbon vintages.

The meal will include raw clams and oysters, smoked turkey wings, kielbasa with sauerkraut, smoked rib roast, sides, and dessert, though changes may be made. The cost is $90 plus tax and tip. Reservations are required.

For Mother’s Day

Those intending to mark Mother’s Day on Sunday with a restaurant visit will find a special menu at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

A $65 prix fixe lunch will be served from noon to 4 p.m., featuring five courses, with choices among entree dishes of roast leg of lamb, wild striped bass, Long Island duckling, grilled Scottish salmon, and pappardelle with asparagus and morels. The cost for kids is $32.50.

In Bridgehampton, the folks at Almond, which will serve a $40 Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will give moms a free mimosa with their meal. Entrees will include pork chops Milanese, sausage and eggs, Nicoise salad, eggs Benedict, and buttermilk waffles.

The “bottomless” Mother’s Day brunch at the Harbor Grill in East Hampton begins at 10 a.m. and will cost $14.95 plus tax and tip. At noon, the restaurant will offer $5 mimosas and Bloody Marys and serve a la carte dishes as well. A la carte specials for the holiday will include steamed whole lobster, fire-roasted tomato and lamb bruschetta, herb and panko-crusted Montauk fluke, and pistachio-crusted oysters. Kids under 10 can eat for free.

At Indian Wells Tavern in Amagansett, brunch specials will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day, along with lunch and dinner specials as well. Among the menu items will be a lobster and sausage frittata, tuna poke jicama tacos, roast Long Island duck, hanger steak au gratin, and broiled stuffed fluke.

A three-course Mother’s Day lunch served at Navy Beach restaurant in Montauk from noon to 4 p.m. will be $42 plus tax and gratuity and, for mothers, will include a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary. Entrees include seared Atlantic salmon, a “Navy burger,” and pappardelle with shrimp, tomatoes, fava beans, asparagus, and pecorino in a lemon-butter sauce.

Holiday a la carte specials will be served at brunch and dinnertime at Nick and Toni’s in East Hampton. They include soft-shell crab, wild King salmon, and rhubarb crisp.

Chocolate Tasting

A chocolate tasting on Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at a new wine bar and cafe at La Parmigiana in Southampton will feature artisanal chocolates by the Hampton Chocolate Factory, which has a store inside La Parmigiana. The Peconic Land Trust will receive 15 percent of the proceeds from all chocolate sales. Space is limited, so reservations have been requested and can be made by calling the land trust office in Southampton or sending an email to [email protected].

Tidbits

Inlet Seafood in Montauk has expanded its service for the month of May and is now serving lunch and dinner Fridays through Tuesdays.

On the other side of Montauk Harbor, Dave’s Grill will reopen next Thursday and will serve dinner Thursdays through Sundays.

Monique Singh-Roy, an Emmy Award-winning TV producer and freelance writer, will be at the Rogers Memorial Library on Wednesday at noon to prepare a meal celebrating the 375th anniversary of the founding of Southampton. Those interested in attending must call the library to reserve a space by Sunday or register online at myrml.org.

Reservations are being taken by the Friends of the Montauk Library for a baking class on May 16 with Lisa Basini, “the baking coach.” She will teach participants at the 1 p.m. session to make crepes from scratch. There will be a $5 “tasting fee.”

The Harbor Market Kitchen, a grocery and takeout food market, has opened in the Sag Harbor space formerly occupied by Espresso. It is owned by Abbey Warsh and Paul and Susana Del Favero.

Pizza Night

Thursday is pizza night at Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton. A three-course dinner is $18 plus tax and tip and includes a Caesar salad to start followed by an organic whole-wheat pizza with sauce and cheese. For $1 extra per item, diners can choose among a variety of additional toppings. Gelato or sorbet will be served for dessert.
