Following a road rage incident Saturday morning, a 28-year-old East Hampton woman reported that two middle-aged men in a Jeep had followed her into the long-term parking lot on Lumber Lane and confronted her. “If you’re going to give us the finger, we will teach you a lesson,” the men reportedly told the woman, before slamming her door shut. Police responded but were unable to locate a vehicle with two men matching her description.
The East Hampton Town Board’s liaison assignments for 2024 were announced on Tuesday, with the supervisor and four councilmembers assigned to each of the hamlets and their citizens advisory committees as well as town departments. Other assignments were to the All Hands on Housing initiative to create affordable housing for residents, key projects, various boards, and citizens and internal committees.
The trustees re-elected Francis Bock to the position of clerk, or presiding officer, and Jim Grimes and Bill Taylor as deputy clerks. They also honored Susan McGraw Keber, who served three terms as a trustee until her retirement at the end of 2023.
The East Hampton High School wrestling team clipped the wings of the Deer Park Falcons here on Jan. 3, flattening the visitors 58-9.
“They’re coming along,” Samantha James, who coaches East Hampton High’s girls basketball team, said after the team had won back-to-back games, while the boys are looking to improve their defense and shooting.
