Actual, real-life reindeer will be among the extremely jolly attractions at Saturday’s Magic of Montauk holiday fair, and on Sunday, Santa visits the firehouse.

The popular Deck the Farm celebration at Amber Waves Farm in Amagansett happens on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. 

History was made in the United States House of Representatives on Friday when Representative George Santos of New York’s Third Congressional District, following the issuance of a damning Nov. 16 report by the House Committee on Ethics, was expelled by his colleagues less than halfway through his first term.

A $600,000 grant from the New York State Regional Economic Development Councils “to plan for the sustainable future” of Montauk’s downtown will help East Hampton Town develop strategies for dealing with the nuts and bolts of climate adaptation.

If the Anchor Society of East Hampton has its way, the current reality of wintertime East Hampton Village, plagued by 55 seasonally closed storefronts, will change by next year as its “winter shops” program gains traction. The idea is “to help fill empty storefronts in the off-season with affordable retail, much-needed services, and other popular pop-ups residents desire.”

East Hampton School District officials on Tuesday unveiled a plan to put up a bond referendum in 2025 for significant repairs and upgrades to its facilities. A priority, so far, is a top-to-bottom overhaul of the high school auditorium.
