From fishing to ferries, and now cruises, one longtime Montauk business seems to have a boat for all reasons.

For the first time, this summer the Viking Fleet, which has been in Montauk since 1936, will offer four cruises for all ages every day, and unlike the other outings the fleet is known for, these will not be about fishing.

“We wanted to try something altogether different,” Capt. Paul Forsberg, the fleet’s owner, said this week. “This is something that isn’t available in the town, and there’s a market for this.”

Upon realizing that many people were looking for shorter rides that were not centered around fishing, Captain Forsberg decided to try to fill the gap. And because he needed a boat to do the job, he decided to rebuild the last boat designed by his grandfather, who was a naval architect.

“It was on its way to the graveyard, and we rescued it and rebuilt it,” Captain Forsberg said.

Although the total refit includes a new engine and new wiring, the steering wheel of the 65-foot Viking Classic had been a gift to Captain Forsberg’s grandfather Paul G. Forsberg. “He designed racing sailboats too,” Captain Forsberg said. “And one of the boats won a couple of races, and they took the steering wheel off and gave it to him.”

After years of keeping the wheel as a memento, Captain Forsberg thought it was appropriate to put it on the newly rebuilt boat. It bears the names and birthdates of all the men in the Forsberg family, from his grandfather down to his youngest grandson, who is 7 years old.

Now, with all of the amenities of a new boat, but with an old-time feel, the Viking Classic is ready to take around 40 passengers on the water for about two-hour boat rides. Viking Fleet is also working with Lynn’s Hula Hut, who will serve food and signature cocktails on board the Viking Classic, which has a full bar and tables on the main deck.

The first morning trip, Cruise & Splash, will take adults and children around Montauk from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Upon anchoring in either Fort Pond Bay or Lake Montauk, passengers will get a chance to jump into the refreshing water to swim or snorkel before heading back.

For naturalists and sightseers alike, at 2 p.m., the Eco & Lighthouse Cruise will sail off for a unique two-hour adventure. “We will pull up lobster traps and we will have a touch tank for the kids,” Mr. Forsberg said. “They can see fish, and lobsters, and crabs, and we will give them gloves so they can help and be a part of it.” The captain of the boat also studied marine biology and will be able to explain everything that is caught.

In the early evening, there will be a Happy Hour Cruise from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and a Sunset Cocktail Cruise after, from 6:30 to 8:30. For more information and pricing details, visit vikingfleet.com.

New on Newtown

A new clothing store has arrived. After a successful pop-up in East Hampton last summer, Anthony Thomas Melillo has opened his second brick-and-mortar store, ATM, at 20 Newtown Lane. The store will highlight the brand’s minimalist approach to style, according to a release. Men’s and women’s pre-fall 2017 collections are featured, as well as items available only in the store.

Big Flower’s Back

Big Flower, an apparel and accessories brand, has opened for a second season in East Hampton as well. The store features men’s and women’s collections and lifestyle products. It is also debuting the Little Flower Collection, a new line for boys.

At 23 Newtown Lane, the shop will display work by local artists. Its hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Elliman Goes Big

Drivers may soon notice Douglas Elliman Real Estate advertisements on Long Island Expressway billboards and wrapped around Hampton Jitney buses. The campaign, “It’s Time for Elliman,” hopes to spread a message about the emotional and financial importance of real estate transactions, according to a release.  The company, which has offices and brokers in all the South Fork villages and hamlets, says the ads are designed to celebrate diversity in America and underscore how its sales agents help guide clients when they are buying a house.

Conservancy Campaign

The eastern Long Island chapter of the Nature Conservancy has launched its first-ever water quality awareness campaign, joining the conservancy’s New York City campaign. Announced last Thursday, the “Depends On Us” campaign emphasizes the importance of water quality by showcasing everyday activities that depend on clean water. It will present broadcast, print, and radio messages, with video content available at Nature.org/DependsOnU

The shop sells clothing for women, men, and kids. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Italian Style

The Peserico-Peruffo family, who own seven shops in Italy and several in Asia and Europe, has opened their first shop in the United States on Newtown Lane, East Hampton.

Started by Maria Peserico in 1962 in Vicenza, Italy, the business won the Apollo d’Oro from the European Chamber of Commerce that year for best craftsmanship and “for the excellent quality and results achieved by the company.” That symbol became the logo of the business.

The East Hampton shop has stocked one example of each of its styles in the most frequently sold sizes, and Hailey Nielsen, the manager, or Jacqueline Plaza, the assistant manager, would have to send to Italy if a customer requested another.

The women worked together for three years at Elie Tahari on Main Street. They were recruited to work at Peserico, a reunion of sorts. The Peserico line includes dresses, jackets, trousers, and blouses produced in Italy from blends of rough linen and silk georgette, light organdy, and cotton jacquard. Colors inspired by the landscape of Cornedo Vicentino, the shop’s birthplace, range from robin’s-egg blue to blue-gray or milky tones and to shades of beige and pink.
