A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly forcing a woman he had just met to perform a sex act on him.

Fabian Camacho-Quiorz, who is 33 and lives in East Hampton, forced himself upon a woman in an East Hampton house on Sept. 29, East Hampton Town Police Captain Chris Anderson said. The woman’s name was not released due to the nature of the crime, and police declined to release the location of the incident to protect her identity.

Captain Anderson said the victim knew her attacker. “He was somebody she had become acquainted with,” he said. The woman sought medical attention and police were immediately notified.

Following an investigation, police picked up Mr. Camacho-Quiorz on Friday. He is charged with a criminal sexual act in the first degree, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.

According to New York State law, a person is guilty of a criminal sexual act in the first degree if he or she engages in oral or anal sexual conduct with another person by forcible compulsion, or with a person who is incapable of consent. It is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

The accused man was arraigned on Saturday and Justice Steven Tekulsky ordered he be held on $60,000 bail. He was remanded to the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office and was due back in court yesterday, when his attorney, John O’Brien, asked that his bail be reduced. The request was denied. There had been no grand jury indictment as of yesterday, but Mr. O’Brien waived his client’s right to be released despite that, while plea negotiations continue.
