Saturday’s the day for the much-anticipated Ladies Village Improvement Society Fair, and to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary the organization has invited other nonprofits to set up interactive booths highlighting the country’s history.
Along with the classic favorites like the petting zoo, vintage booth, face painting, and carousel, this year will see participation from Guild Hall, the East Hampton Library, the Garden Club of East Hampton, and the East Hampton Historical Society.
Many of the children’s activities are free, from roving entertainers to live music and crafts. At a silent auction booth, fairgoers will have a chance to bid on items and experiences ranging from food and wine to golf, tennis, entertainment, and travel donated by community members. The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center will show off some of its birds of prey; there will be music by the Eukaladies, the Bonac Shanty Crew, Certain Moves, and Nora Conlon; food and treats from A La Mode Ice Cream, Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee, Lenny’s Hot Dogs, North Sea Tavern, and the Lobster Roll, and plants from Wittendale’s, Buckley’s, North Fork Boutique Gardens, and Broadview Gardens.
The fair takes place on the grounds of the Gardiner Brown House on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Proceeds support the L.V.I.S.’s scholarships, preservation, conservation, and beautification efforts.
