The inaugural Hamptons Sweat Fest, with fitness classes and wellness events to benefit the Beljanski Foundation, happens from Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug 9, at venues from Bridgehampton to Montauk.
The nonprofit Beljanksi Foundation's is "dedicated to funding university-level scientific research into natural, non-toxic approaches to cancer and chronic disease, with a particular emphasis on targeting cancer stem cells," according to a release. Founded by Sylvie Beljanski, it was inspired by the research of her father, Dr. Mirko Beljanski, a French biologist who worked at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, where he explored the link between cancer and environmental toxins.
Next weekend's Sweat Fest, hosted by the foundation and Rejuvenation Health, will include group runs, Pilates, yoga, and boxing classes, red light therapy, and strength training with partners including Soul Cycle, the Lifted Method, Tracy Anderson, Elements Fitness, Yoga Shanti, and many other studios in Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, and Montauk.
A $100 "sweat pass" will let passholders choose from two of the more than 30 fitness classes on offer, while a $250 pass offers two classes plus a cocktail reception on Aug. 8. That event will be at Rejuvenation Health in East Hampton from 5 to 7 p.m. with Ms. Beljanski and Rejuvenation's Dr. Gerry Curatola, who practices biological and integrative dentistry. The foundation promises "an opportunity for guests to connect with leaders in integrative health, fitness, and longevity."
