In a tough turn of events for East Hampton, the boys soccer team lost 2-1 to Amityville on Tuesday, pushing Bonac out of the playoffs and ending the team’s season.

“We played very well but failed to convert our many opportunities into the ball finding the back of the net,” Don McGovern, the head coach, said. “Amityville was able to score twice though, so that is how it finished. The boys worked hard throughout the match, always working to get the equalizer but that never happened.”

A story on the first playoff game, a win at home on Saturday, appears on today’s sports page.

The Bonackers finished with only one loss in the regular season, also to Amityville.
