Fabian Almazan will bring his quintet to the Southampton Arts Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. as part of Hamptons Jazz Fest's winter series. The concert will be preceded at 5 with an exhibition of photographs by Ric Kallaher and a pre-show reception.
Mr. Almazan first became involved in the classical piano tradition as a child in Havana. While earning his B.A. at the Manhattan School of Music, he immersed himself in orchestral composition and instrumentation. As a performer, he has developed a personal style through the electric manipulation of the acoustic piano in live and studio settings.
A two-time Grammy nominee, he has performed worldwide as a band leader and featured instrumentalist for artists such as Terence Blanchard, Dave Douglas, and Avishai Cohen.
Mr. Kallaher is the official Hamptons Jazz Fest photographer, and his exhibition will feature images from the festival's 2022 concerts.
Tickets are $35, $30 for members, and $15 for students.
