Charged in String of Burglaries

A career criminal already behind bars has now been charged with six more felony counts after an investigation by Southampton Town detectives into a string of burglaries between March and May.

Richard Ambrose, 40, of Shirley was taken to Southampton Town Justice Court from the county jail in Riverside on Jan. 12 and arraigned on the new charges.

Southampton Village police had arrested him on Sept. 16 on a burglary charge, and a grand jury indicted him four days later. On Sept. 26, he was arraigned in county court, with New York State Justice John B.

East Hampton Village

Police went to a Huntting Lane house to check on the well-being of a resident after receiving a report of what appeared to be blood in the snow near the front porch. The man, whose name was redacted from the incident report, is known to the police because he has chased strangers down the street in the past. He told an officer that the stains in the snow were beet juice he had disposed of.

A call reporting a seal in distress took police to Main Beach late Saturday afternoon.

Arrested For Forging Prescriptions

A Manhattan woman who works as a medical assistant forged a prescription for Klonopin that was filled at White’s Pharmacy in East Hampton in May, according to the charge brought against her in East Hampton Town Justice court Tuesday afternoon.

Donna Lemons, 57, was arrested after a detective who is with the Southampton Town Police and is a member of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force traced the prescription back to her.

 Someone drove onto the grounds of the East Hampton Farm Museum, at the corner of North Main and Cedar Streets, on Jan. 4, leaving ruts and partially pushing the cover of a septic system out of place. The East Hampton Town Parks Department is to repair the damage.

It was the day after Christmas when Walter Guerrero, who lives at the Oakview Highway trailer park, noticed the content of his Apple iPhone had been deleted. He told police he was able to download the data from the cloud.

Two vehicles parked in the driveway of a Cross Highway house were keyed over a four-day period recently. Jonathan Alzate told police deep scratches had been made by a key or nail on his 2011 Toyota Tacoma overnight Dec. 18 and that his 2004 Dodge truck was similarly struck overnight Dec. 21.
