East Hampton

A man told police early Sunday morning that someone had walked up to him in the club/bar area of Common Ground East, at 44 Three Mile Harbor Road, and punched him in the nose unprovoked. Officers searched but could not locate the aggressor.

East Hampton Village

A woman who owns a Newtown Lane business came into police headquarters on the afternoon of Aug. 25 to complain about “negative” texts from a former employee. Police contacted the woman, who told them she was upset that the complainant had “stolen her business idea.” Police told the two to keep away from each other.

While “preoccupied” in the public restrooms near Herrick Park on the evening of Aug. 28, a man left his smartphone on the sink. It was gone when he returned, and police filed a larceny report.

Sag Harbor

A caller reported that a woman in a gray Lexus on Long Wharf had been there for three days, “staring at a yacht.” Police found the woman, who said she wasn’t feeling well but declined medical assistance.

A man walked into the Romany Kramoris Gallery Sunday night and pulled the fire alarm, which sprayed multiple pieces of art valued at about $10,000 in all. While no cameras caught the incident, the gallery requested that detectives conduct an investigation.

The next afternoon, a woman reported her Prada tote bag stolen from the back of her friend’s white Audi. The bag contained her car keys, AirPods, and sunglasses. The vehicle appeared undamaged, although its owner told police it had been locked.
