Thu, 09/08/2022 - 10:13

Danny Fabian Kunkumas-Villacis, 32, was northbound in a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta on North Main Street near Springs-Fireplace Road on Aug. 27 when, police said, they stopped him for driving in the center turning lane and impeding traffic in the process. The Sag Harbor man consented to a field sobriety test and was subsequently charged with misdemeanor drunken driving.

Hunter K. Medler of East Hampton was eastbound on Montauk Highway in East Hampton at around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, when, he told police, he tried to avoid hitting a deer and instead struck a guardrail, causing his 2021 Jeep to roll over. Police noted a strong odor of alcohol and reported that Mr. Medler’s speech was slurred and his eyes glassy and bloodshot. He was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he submitted to a blood test, and was later charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

On Friday, Zoey Elizabeth Shrier of New York City, 31, failed to maintain her lane, according to town police, while eastbound in a 2009 Hyundai on Montauk Highway near Atlantic Avenue in Amagansett. Upon being stopped, she consented to a field sobriety test and performed poorly, police said. She was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving.

Early on the morning of Aug. 21, Steven Thompson of Bay Shore, 36, was spotted in a 2017 Nissan Titan on Montauk Highway near South Embassy Street in Montauk, following a traffic accident. Police said he was “seated in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running.” Mr. Thompson failed sobriety tests, officers said, and was charged with misdemeanor D.W.I.
