More Paint in the Village

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 11:00
Two weeks ago it was blue paint; last week yellow paint on the steps of People’s United Bank in East Hampton and white paint elsewhere in the village.

East Hampton Village was again the scene of an outbreak of criminally mischievous painting last week, following a spate of spray-painting and graffiti two weeks ago.

This time around, a puddle of white paint was found last Thursday in front of the Ladies Village Improvement Society building at 95 Main Street, and a similar puddle was spotted on Friday morning, at the Starbucks on Main Street. Yet another Friday morning report notes that the front steps of the building of People’s Bank on Newtown Lane were painted gold.

In Montauk, meanwhile, someone painted “Xray Rules” on the entrance sign of the apartment building known as The Tower (55 S. Euclid Avenue) sometime between Aug. 21 and Aug. 22. Graffiti referencing “Xray” had been found earlier in August in East Hampton Village.
