Christmas Morning Collision

Thu, 12/29/2022 - 10:34

On Christmas morning, there was a head-on collision on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road near Ingalls Road in Springs.

Nervo Morales-Quintanila of Springs, 27, was charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, following the incident. According to East Hampton Town police, he had been southbound in a 2020 Nissan just before 10 a.m. when he collided with an oncoming 2016 Toyota driven by Dong Ngo of East Hampton, 58, who told police that the Nissan had crossed the double-yellow line and crashed into his car, “causing minor injuries” to his female passenger, Kim Cao, 48. Mr. Morales-Quintanila was “unable to describe the circumstances of the accident,” police noted. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

On Friday night at around 10:30, police got a call about an erratic driver on Oyster Shores Road near Springy Banks Road in East Hampton, who’d failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. They found the car, a 2004 Honda CRV, and pulled it over. The driver, Adolfo Chillogallileon of East Hampton, 35, was charged with two D.W.I. first-offense misdemeanors after reportedly failing roadside sobriety tests, and was additionally ticketed for failing to produce a driver’s license.

Darwin Villaguichay, 29, of East Hampton, was westbound on Montauk Highway near Surf Drive in Amagansett just after midnight on Dec. 19 when police stopped his 2014 Ford, saying it had crossed “the fog line” several times, swerved onto the shoulder, and was moving at seven miles an hour in a 55 m.p.h. zone. He reportedly failed the roadside test and was charged with first-offense drunken driving misdemeanors.

On Dec. 19 just after 8 p.m., police noticed a car parked on the shoulder of Springs-Fireplace Road near Shadom Lane in that hamlet, with a man asleep in the driver’s seat. They found the keys in the ignition of the car, a 1991 Toyota, and awakened Edgar Vasquez of Springs, 50. He failed the sobriety test, police said, and was charged with two first-offense D.W.I. misdemeanors. He was ticketed also for failure to produce a driver’s license.
