Fire Commissioner Elections

Thu, 12/09/2021 - 09:35

Fire district elections are to be held Tuesday in a number of communities across the South Fork, at least one of which, Montauk, will have a contested race. The candidates running for a seat on the board of commissioners are Joseph Dryer and Charles “Chip” McLean. Voting will take place at the Montauk Firehouse from 2 to 9 p.m.; masks are required.

In Amagansett, William Beckert, a newcomer to the board of commissioners, is running for the board unopposed. Robert Comfort, an incumbent member of the Bridgehampton board of commissioners, is also running unopposed. In both districts, voting is from 6 to 9 p.m. at their respective firehouses.

Information for the Springs Fire District was not available by press time this week.
