Deer in the Headlights

Deer in the headlights caused a few collisions last week.

The first occurred at Accabonac Highway and Floyd Street in East Hampton on Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. Then last Thursday in Montauk, at 3 p.m., a deer was hit on Route 27 near Beech Street.

Later that day, at 6 p.m. on Springs-Fireplace Road near Cedar Ridge Drive in Springs, another animal ran into the path of a car. The final collision happened on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Cedar Street and Fieldview Lane in East Hampton.

None of the drivers was reported hurt.

An “older gentleman” was at the bar at Rosie’s in Amagansett with a younger woman who “did not appear to be his daughter,” another patron, who was “concerned about her well-being,” reported Friday night. But she was the man’s daughter.

Four men were seen “rearranging” the metal benches in front of the Yummylicious ice cream and frozen yogurt shop in Sag Harbor last week. They told a police officer they’d moved the benches “because they wanted to hang out.”
