Madeleine "Manon" Penelope Potter was born in NYC on March 17, 1950. She died peacefully on August 24, 2026 at her home in Chiang Rai, Thailand, where she lived with her daughter Caty and family.
Manon lived most of her life on Stony Hill Farm, Amagansett (her family's home) and later in East Hampton with Margaret Dunn. As a child and teenager, Manon's great love were horses, especially her adored retired race horse Blitz. She took enormous joy on chilly fall days in galloping Blitz through the woods and potato fields surrounding the Farm. In the summer, she was off through the trails to Louse Point or down to Indian Wells beach, something impossible today. She was quite the daredevil when on the back of a horse.
As an adult, Manon earned a RN degree from Pace University and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC. During this time, she married Paul Dioguardi and they had two children, Pauli and Caty. Later in life, she moved back to Amagansett and sent her children to the Amagansett school. Raising these two where she had grown up gave her enormous joy.
Manon felt honored to do volunteer work at The Retreat in East Hampton. She was also an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Both of these organizations were very important to her as she strongly believed in helping others.
Manon was predeceased by her father Jeffrey B. Potter and her mother Penelope Potter Bradford. She is survived by her son Pauli Dioguardi, daughter-in-law Penelope S. Dioguardi, daughter Caty Sikelianos-Carter, son-in-law Niko Sikelianos-Carter and grandchildren Momo Dioguardi, Mataeyo Dioguardi, Annie Kanobdee, and Anava Armer. Also surviving her are brothers Job Potter, Horatio Potter, sister-in-law Liz Potter and sister Gayle Potter Basso. In addition to many other relatives and friends, she is also survived by partner Margaret Dunn, Janet Jennings, Cary Potter, Ben Potter and Jeffrey Potter. Manon was deeply loved and will always be greatly missed.
