April 19, 1988  - Oct. 5, 2026

Kevin Lee Becker of Montauk died on Oct. 5 at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. He was 38 and his death was unexpected, his family said.

“He was a very caring person,” his father, Richard Becker, said, calling him funny and witty, a person who stood up for the underdog. “He was so respectful of people.”

Mr. Becker was born on April 19, 1988, at Southampton Hospital. His father and his mother, the former Joan Dennis, raised him in Montauk. He graduated from the Montauk School and East Hampton High School, where he played on the golf team. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, he returned to Montauk and began a career in the family business, Becker Home Center.

His pastimes included riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, surfing, and golf.

“Kevin will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him,” his family said.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Becker is survived by two sisters, Erin Becker Grant of California and Kelly Becker of East Hampton, and by a grandmother, Margaret Dennis of East Hampton.

A graveside service for family was held on Oct. 8 at Montauk’s Fort Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations were suggested to the Montauk ambulance company, online at montaukfiredistrict.org.
