Paid Notice: Rescued by Eileen Roaman from a kill shelter as a puppy in New York City in 2011, Georgie proved to be an exceptional creature.
Adopted by Toni Ross upon Eileen’s passing in 2013, Georgie embodied the playful wry humor, intelligence, grace, determination and elegance that defined Eileen.
Georgie essentially became the Mayor of Wainscott making daily trips to the back fields, the beach and elsewhere. Known by all at the beach and at the dog park, Georgie was a master hole digging engineer, ball destroyer, sod disrupter, protector, wrestler, lover, comforter, and he was uniquely capable of opening any door as needed day or night.
Georgie had a deep soul visible in his piercing eyes. He was regal, elegant, compassionate, fierce. His soulmate and dog walker, Lori said it best: “Georgie was a human in a dog suit”
Georgie is survived by his human family Toni Ross, Noah and Sara Salaway, Lendora Louise Solomon, Genevieve Willock, by his soulmate and dog walker Lori Marsden, his little brother from Arf, Milo, and by the East End community who loved him so very much. Our family is enormously grateful to have been able to share a life with this exceptional creature who was more than a dog and more than a friend. He was a life lesson in nobility, humor and grace.
