Jennifer Bartlett, a painter who rose to prominence in the international art world in the 1970s and remained an innovative figure perhaps best known for her monumental steel-plate paintings, died at home in Amagansett on July 25. She was 81. 

An exhibition of her paintings and prints can be seen at the Drawing Room in East Hampton through Sunday. An obituary will appear in a future issue.

The seven-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist John Mayer will perform at the Stephen Talkhouse on Aug. 26 in this year’s edition of the annual SiriusXM satellite radio concert held at the Amagansett live-music venue.

The East Hampton Fire Department will have a ribbon-cutting and barbecue to mark the grand opening of a new barn for its antique fire vehicles, apparatus, and memorabilia on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
