Visiting hours for Bruce J. Hoek of Springs will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A service is planned for Tuesday morning at 10 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at 11 at Fort Hill Cemetery in Montauk.
Mr. Hoek, who was 73, died on Nov. 26 at the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Southampton
Harold (Herb) Herbert opened Herb’s Market in 1963. It was a grocery store, deli, and butcher shop, and became an unofficial social center of Montauk — a place where both locals and visitors could gather, catch up with one another, share stories, and always feel welcome.
