Quinn Corleto: A City Girl in a Beach Town
While many people find peace in the relaxed, forested, and sandy East End, Quinn Corleto is all in for the flashing lights and bustling streets of New York City.
Born and raised in Manhattan, she now attends Riverdale County School, where she plays on the volleyball team. She also plays at the club level. For Quinn, it’s a time-consuming sport, but she loves it dearly. She has also taken up photography, both at school and as a hobby. She has two siblings: brother-and-sister twins, younger by two-and-a-half years.
For as long as she can remember, Quinn and her family have been spending their summers in East Hampton. “It’s a different change of pace, obviously, out here than the city. I think it’s nice, but it’s always also nice to get back to the city and have that busyness again and just more stuff going on.”
Grinning from ear to ear, Quinn explained there is always something to do in Manhattan. “I like to hang out with my friends a lot. Kind of just explore. . . . I can always just get up and walk around. I like walking around the city a lot. I think it's really pretty, and no matter where you are, there's something new to look at. I could have been walking in the same place, and it's a completely new thing [with] new people. And I just think it's really interesting to be able to just look around and watch everyone living their own lives.”
Quinn is a huge supporter of the mindset of perseverance. Her best piece of advice is “to never give up and to keep going, no matter what obstacles you're faced with.”
