Thu, 07/31/2025 - 08:55

Rue Matthiessen will take to the lectern behind the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton on Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. for the Fridays at Five series to read from her 2024 memoir, "Castles & Ruins," which comes with the explanatory subtitle "Unraveling Family Mysteries and Literary Legacy in the Irish Countryside."

That family being her parents, Deborah Love and Peter Matthiessen, who was, of course, a National Book Award-winning author and Sagaponack resident. Tickets are $25 at the gate.

Ms. Matthiessen is also out with a new novel, "Woman With Eyes Closed," about three Dutch art thieves who steal four masterworks one night in Rotterdam.
