Express Fluency, which helps adults swiftly learn foreign languages for travel, business, or other reasons, is offering a free demo lesson in Spanish in Sag Harbor on Jan. 18.

"Most adults think they cannot learn a language because of their experiences in school. We like to show people that there is an easy way to acquire language which is accessible to everyone," Elissa McLean, who started Express Fluency in 2009, said in an announcement.

The class, from 7 to 8 p.m. upstairs at the Masonic Temple at the Whaling Museum, will give people a taste of how learning a new language "can be effortless and enjoyable." Ms. McLean, who has a master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, teaches Spanish at the Ross School in East Hampton and trains hundreds of schoolteachers each year.

Registration is online at bit.ly/3W2pdK6.

A 10-week session of beginner Spanish kicks off on Feb. 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at a cost of $375 for one participant or $650 for two signing up together. The fee includes all class materials. A registration link is at expressfluency.com.
