Kids 'Cancel Cancer' on Wednesday

Mon, 08/15/2022 - 12:31

Hayley Silvers, Ava Litman, Mischa Abend, and Abey Fuks are standing up to cancer.

The four teenagers, who are part-time East Hampton residents and students at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, are organizing a fund-raiser for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation at The Clubhouse in East Hampton on Wednesday to support research into pediatric cancers.

They have dubbed their event Kids Cancel Cancer. From 5 to 9 p.m., guests can play arcade games and miniature golf, enjoy food, enter raffles, and more. Tickets are $100 for kids and $125 for adults. The Clubhouse is on Daniel's Hole Road near the town airport. More information is online at this link.

According to a press release, the Waxman Foundation hopes to raise $100,000 to hire two investigators for up to two years and establish a pediatric research grant. The teens' mission is to help the foundation eliminate pediatric cancer by funding research to identify and correct its causes.
