Lavender is in full bloom on the North Fork.

If you've ever dreamt of frolicking through a field of French lavender, here's your chance: tickets are on sale for Lavender by the Bay's locations in Calverton and East Marion through July 19. The magnificent but short-lived bloom came a bit earlier this year, the farm says on its website.

New this year at the Calverton flower farm, at 47 Manor Road, is a covered pavilion with seating situated in the fragrant fields. At the East Marion location, at 7540 Main Road, guests can browse lavender products at a full-fledged farm shop.

Tickets cost $13 each, with free admission for children under 6. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed. "Please leave ample travel time to arrive at the start of your time slot, as summer weekends can have an increased volume of traffic," the farm said in an announcement.

More information and a link to buy tickets can be found at lavenderbythebay.com.

Since then, a “hometown side project” has developed into Circuit, an all-electric, on-demand “micro-transit” solution in more than 40 cities and towns.

Sag Harbor Rejects Proposed Tree Settlement

The case of Augusta Ramsay Folks, an 81-year-old accused of cutting down two trees on Meadowlark Lane in Sag Harbor in June of last year — in violation of the village’s new tree-protection law — was back in court on July 8, when a settlement proposed by Ms. Folks was rejected by the village and then withdrawn by her attorney.
