A Stroll to the Sea with ARF

Dogs and their people have been encouraged to sign up for the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons' Stroll to the Sea fund-raiser, which will take place on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The two-mile walk to East Hampton Village's Main Beach and back begins at the Mulford Farm on James Lane. Dreesen's Famous Donuts, Goldberg's Bagels, contests, and a T-shirt featuring artwork by Isaac Mizrahi will be available to all registered participants.

Tickets are $30 per human and can be ordered online. The rain date is Oct. 10. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination for those 12 and older will be asked at the outset.

Polar plunges at Main Beach in East Hampton and Beach Lane in Wainscott on New Year’s Day accomplish many things: bracing and exhilarating starts to the year, the company of many hundreds of friends and fellow townspeople, and a chance to secure bragging rights that extend well into 2026. But most important, each serves as a critical fund-raiser for food pantries.
