Shinnecock Powwow Is Invite-Only

The Shinnecock Indian Nation's annual powwow is closed to the public for the second year in a row because of Covid-19.

Only tribal members and invited guests may attend the limited festivities on Saturday in Southampton, though certain events, such as canoe races and traditional dancing, will be live-streamed on the nation's official powwow Facebook page. It can be found by searching "Shinnecock 73rd Annual Pow-Wow."

Bryan Polite, the tribal chairman, pledged that next year, "We'll be back and better than ever."
